Hurricane Isaias: pending loans may need a reinspection or attestation

Isaias appears headed for landfall east of Mobile, Alabama and into the Florida panhandle.

Pending loans in the storm’s path may require a reinspection or an attestation prior to GMFS approval/closing. Here’s the short version:

Reinspect FHA, USDA & VA — new inspection with photos dated after the event end date.
Attestation Conventional (incl. PIW) & USDA streamline — borrower-signed Disaster Recertification Affidavit plus date/timestamp photos.
Depends VA IRRRL — attestation if GMFS services the loan; licensed inspection if not.
Construction GMFS Construction Dept. handles inspections; HomeStyle follows Fannie Mae guides.

What’s next

We’ll share an update as early as possible on Monday, October 12, 2026 on any known areas of significant damage, then follow up with FEMA announcements as they become available.
